Velorution Campground
Our free cyclist campground continues to be very popular. We have had campers almost everyday for the past month, all with great stories to share. You can read about some of these campers in the following excerpts from our guest book:
"August 18, 2007 Jay Dabb. Going L.A. to Boston. This place is great, lots of neat art, ideas and bikes. I wish this shop lots of luck, goodtimes in the future. Thanks to Andre for giving me a place to sleep and shower."
"This trip is a tribute to my late father who died of a heart attack. I am raising funds for research in heart disease and stroke...$10,000 is the goal. The trip itself is solo, unsupported, and done entirely without any money, food or pre-arranged accomodations. It's day 38 now and I have been blessed by Canada's generosity!" -Nick Bladen, Australia
"On a cross country trip B.C. to Newfoundland. So far 2 months on the road and all is well. Canada is truly amazing - especially the people. Very positive and uplifting. Thanks Andre and staff for all the help refitting tires on our bikes, etc. If anyone gets the chance to do a trip like this, do it! I believe it is a life changing experience..." -Barry and Wendy
"It's funny how things do a full circle. With government, materialism, media and the help of greed one day soon the bicycle will be the king of the road once again!" - Greg Buhse, Australia
"We're riding to raise awareness about childhood obesity, and raise $40,000 for Sick Kids Hospital. Brock will be riding wearing a 40lb weight vest. www.biketobeatobesity.com" - Mark, Vancouver
"Bicycling from Vancouver home to St. John's where my girlfriend will be waiting with wine and sex (I hope!). An unexpected rest day here in the Soo was perfect. Anyone who has been around Velorution knows that it's an amazing place full of great people, where you can feel pretty comfy, especially after a shower and some beer." - Aaron
"Cycling is such a fantastic way to see this beautiful country and to meet so many people who seem to be looking for any excuse to be friendly, helpful or encouraging. This place is the prime example." - Chris and Ellen McCallum
"Stopped here to get our bikes checked over and you gave us donuts, beer and good advice. Thank you so much. We heard about your store in Nipigon-what a pleasure to finally see another bike store."
"Radical! This is the best stop ever! Thank you for the exceptionally generous camping and bike love hospitality. What a respite." -Ari Max Bachrach, San Francisco, CA
"Thanks for creating a wonderful community for cyclists - such a pleasant and unexpected surprise. I'm cycling White River, ON to Toronto, ON as this year's installment in my mulit-year project to ride Pacific to Atlantic." - Victor, Montreal
