The Best Socks on the Planet

OK, so I'm a last minute Christmas shopper and I can't figure out what to buy.  Last year I got my mother in law (wife, mother and nephews) some of those fancy Smartwool socks.  Sure they cost a bit more than the regular type and that's because they are not the regular type.  Now my mother in law, who by the way is a sock expert, knitting countless socks every year, wants me to get her another pair of those very warm and comfortable socks for Christmas again this year.  Talk about selling snow to the Eskimo.
